Dr. Chacko P. Varghese was born in south India to Christian parents. During childhood, his family experienced much persecution. Once, when Chacko’s father returned home after being severely beaten for his faith, Chacko said to himself, “If Jesus is important enough for my father to be beaten for his beliefs, then Jesus must be very important.” It wasn’t long before he was joining his parents in preaching the Gospel in towns and villages of India and helping them plant and establish churches.  

In January 1970, the Lord sent Chacko to the United States for further theological training. His motivation was to be better equipped in order to some day help his own people reach the millions of lost souls in India. Through the miraculous provision of God and the generosity of His people, Chacko was able not only to complete his studies, but also to begin a ministry, which would train nationals in India. 

In 1975, Dr. Chacko Varghese, with prayers, interest and encouragement of several others, founded The India Mission for Evangelism (T.I.M.E.), an organization dedicated to raising funds and prayer support for Peniel Bible Seminary and Missionary Training Center along with several other ministries in India. T.I.M.E. is also concerned with spreading a missions’ vision for India among American Christians.   

Through providential circumstances, the Lord directed Dr. Varghese and his family in July 1998 to relocate their home and ministry base from Minnesota to Prescott Valley, Arizona, believing that God will use this move for the expansion of T.I.M.E. ministries for His glory. 

Every year, Dr. Varghese preaches the gospel to thousands in India through “Good News Conventions.” It is not unusual to witness hundreds giving their hearts to Jesus Christ. 

He also speaks at Pastors’ seminars and conducts training courses in evangelism. He is available to preach and teach at churches, mission conferences, evangelistic services, or other special meetings in North America.
